Cheraw Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Creating Community Through People The Cheraw Parks and Recreation Department is one of the most respected in the southeast. Leisure programs and activities for people of all ages and abilities are offered. The town offers quality parks, playgrounds, playing fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, a large community center and art gallery, hiking/biking trails, and open spaces for all residents. Cheraw is located on a high bluff above the Great Pee Dee River, and Riverside Park provides a boat ramp, picnicking and trails along this waterway. Continued upgrades are being implemented in all areas throughout the year and quality programs are being added to meet the needs of the citizens.
